... the kitchen construction wrap-up!
The old kitchen used to be vintage pink linoleum and after all the humidity from canning this past fall it was a nasty peeling moldy mess in need of urgent attention.
The remodel could have been a money pit. But the counters are made out of salvaged wood from our garage floor and the subway tiles were FREE leftovers (thanks Samie!)

We also replaced all of the plumbing. It was corroded. And did I mention all of the mold? O'lover says I should write this post with the authority of someone who has been
through hell and back. I wouldn't want to pretend there weren't fiery flames of hardship. Do you believe me? Can you relate? (sigh)

The counters are coated with non-toxic Sutherland Welles bartop tung oil finish. They're super durable and BEG to be touched, all-in-all a screaming success.
