Art Lovers of Provo, it's a Battle of Wills

Provo's FrontRunner station is going to be adorned with the following sculptures by Don Mitchell:
a clock tower
and two greeters holding a destination sign.

After an open call to artists, an agonizingly long selection procedure, approval by committee, seeking funds from the city council (who unanimously approved the sculptures) the Daily Herald is now asking YOU. Weigh in on the sculptures at the Herald poll.* And this is what Mayor Curtis has to say.

signed,
foreseeing Provonians enjoying many photo ops with these two sculptures. i own stockings just like the 11 foot giant on the right...=)

*And normally this post would be over but........currently voters are deeming the sculptures too expensive!??

I wholeheartedly disagree!

RANT RANT RANT RANT (imagine about three paragraphs of well reasoned rant deleted 'cause even well reasoned rants hurt my eyes. ouch.)

these giant sculptures are NOT expensive!!

Remember when Provo thought the Academy library was too expensive? And it was an uphill battle to preserve it?

Wait a sec...that was another rant!

Go vote.
